Liverpool have condemned the actions of supporters filmed pushing locals into a fountain in Barcelona ahead of the club’s Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou.The Premier League club also confirmed they are working with police to identify those involved in multiple incidents which have been brought to light due to footage being shared on social media.One was filmed pushing an elder man, who appears to be Asian, into a fountain at Placa Reial square.There was some shocking fan behaviour at the Placa Reial square3

Liverpool released a statement condemning the behaviour and confirming they are working with police to identify those individuals involved.The statement read: “Liverpool Football Club is working with Merseyside Police and the authorities in Spain, who are endeavouring to identify those involved in the incident.“Such behaviour is clearly totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. “It would be inappropriate to comment further while the situation is ongoing other than to confirm the club will follow due process in any and all cases of this nature.”A couple of hours prior to the publication of Liverpool’s official statement, Peter Moore, the club’s CEO, posted on Twitter urging fans to treat the city with respect.“We proudly sing that weve conquered all of Europe,” he wrote. “But lets treat this beautiful city with the respect that it deserves, and act in a manner that is befitting of LFC.“By all means have a good time, but we are Liverpool, and as such, lets visit here with grace and humility.”

The staff required medical treatment after the incident, with one reportedly suffering a broken nose.Merseyside Police on Wednesday confirmed the arrests.Further videos from Tuesday night showed local police marching down Las Ramblas to clear Liverpool fans off the street. They are alleged to have been wielding batons and accompanied by police vans.Liverpool went on to lose 3-0 in Barcelona, to leave them needing a miracle at Anfield next week to reach the Champions League final.
