It’s been 18 months since Samir Nasri last took to a football pitch to play a professional match but West Ham supporters are already convinced they have made a shrewd acquisition. The ex-Manchester City and Arsenal midfielder has joined the club on a free transfer and made his debut in their 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham City.1
I was quite impressed with Nasri as well, he made a few good passes and was telling players to make movements so he could pass it around.Made some good passes with Arnie before his early substitution, which clearly wasnt talked about before the match as he was confused as us.— JMES (@JameswhufcJones) January 5, 2019
Impressed with Nasri— LFI (@AlfieWHUFC) January 5, 2019
You can see the class Nasri has already. Hasnt even kicked a ball competitively for a year and half and was linking up and pinging it around. I am really excited about him. Arnautovic Anderson Lanzini and Nasri — Mike K. (@_NailOnTheHead) January 5, 2019
Nasri played well but as soon as Arnautovic came off he went a bit invisible. Gave the ball away a few times but decent addition to the squad— JJM_WHU (@JJM_WHU) January 5, 2019
Solid debut from Nasri today has that ooze of class on the ball and was linking well with Arnie. Good creativity to have in the side— Brad Palmer (@Mr_BA6) January 5, 2019
Good result against a full strength Brum Nasri looked decent despite his 18 month absence especially when he was linking up with Arnie before he went off I'd have taken that before kick off and fair play to the City fans for their backing of the team— WestHamOnline (@WestHamOnline) January 5, 2019
Great debut from Nasri. #WHUBIR— Matthew Gordon (@MattGordon97) January 5, 2019
Thoughts on Nasris performance today?I thought he looked sharp, really impressive. His link up play with Arnautovic was top notch Great debut Nasri pic.twitter.com/JlyNyMaaML— Claret & Blue Army (@westham_gossip) January 5, 2019
Also good to see Nasri for 60 odd minutes. He got on the ball well and you can see glimpses of his quality. Good match fitness for him and hopefully we see a lot more of his quality for the remainder of the season at least!— Jack (@JackJPW_COYI) January 5, 2019
Nasri was tidy today — David Blaine (@J1UVY_SOSA) January 5, 2019
Don't get the fantasy about Martial. He has talent but he occupies LW for which we already have Hazard and Hudson-Odoi.His main strengths are dribbling and cutting in 1v1 which would be nullified at RW.Not to mention that it's plain stupid to spend even 1 penny on him as he has 1 year left on his contract if he doesnt trigger the extension.Would rather go for Zaha.
