Vinnie Jones believes there is a group of Manchester United players who should be playing at lower Premier League clubs and even down a division in the Championship.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to give his squad a complete makeover this summer after their disastrous end to the season.United missed out on Champions League qualification and ended their Premier League campaign with a shock 2-0 defeat to Cardiff at Old Trafford on Sunday.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not been a happy man in the Old Trafford dugout in recent weeks3

The result meant the Red Devils, who finished in sixth place, ended the campaign as close to Cardiff as they did to Man City (32 points). They haven’t finished the season so far away from the league champions since 1975, and Solskjaerwas so furious with his teams dismal performance against the relegated club that he scrapped his end-of-year debrief. The boss has warned his players to stay in shape over the summer as he looks to bounce back next term. But former Wimbledon and Chelsea defender Jones believes a group of United players will be told they have no future at the club when they return.Manchester United, that was unbelievable to go down 2-0 at home, the footballer-turn-Hollywood star said on Mondays Sports Breakfast. When Solskjaer got the job I honestly thought they had a few lucky results. I know they went on a run, but there were a few that could have gone either way.The defending has been shocking for months. Theyve got no Steve Bruce or someone like that in centre-half, theyve got no Roy Keane or Bryan Robson of old in the centre of midfield. There are definitely a few who have got to go.A few of them are a little bit passed their sell by date and theyve got to move on to a lesser club – maybe lower Premier League and Championship clubs.Manchester United’s players have failed to perform in the latter stages of the seasonGetty Images - Getty3

A host of United stars have been linked with exits this summer, with the futures of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, David de Gea and Anthony Martial all uncertain, while Ander Herrera has already confirmed he is leaving.Meanwhile, fans have fumed at the club for giving the likes of Chris Smalling, Ashley Young and Phil Jones new contracts, despite the widespread belief they are no longer good enough for a United team. And Vinnie believes Solskjaer may divide his squad into two training camps when the players return from their summer breaks, similar to what happened when he signed for Leeds in 1989.LISTEN: Vinnie Jones on his love for Leeds United and why Garry Monk is perfect manager for the Whites3

He added: When I went to Leeds there were four of five players who had been there a long time. When [manager] Howard Wilkinson brought the new lads in me, Chrissie Fairclough, Gordon Strachan and that basically he said to the four or five players, look lads, go and train over there, get yourself fit and get yourself away, because youre not in my plans. That might well be the case at Manchester United, they could have two training camps this summer.
